Developed by renowned psychologist Marsha Linehan, DBT offers a comprehensive approach to addressing your unique goals, enhancing your skills, and empowering you to create the future you envision.
Our team includes a Clinical Lead who is Linehan Board Certified (DBT-LBC), ensuring that you receive the highest standard of care. Being Linehan board certified means that our Clinical Lead has undergone rigorous training and demonstrated expertise in applying DBT principles, techniques, and strategies to support individuals dealing with a wide range of challenges.
Whether you struggle with intense emotions, anger, impulsivity, addiction, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, trauma, or borderline personality disorder, our dedicated professionals are here to guide you towards a more fulfilling life.
DBT Winnipeg takes pride in offering high-quality Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) services, grounded in evidence-based research. At DBT Winnipeg, we offer comprehensive DBT that encompasses various components. Services & Fees
Our intake sessions are designed for new clients who are interested in engaging in DBT therapy. During the initial intake session, our intake coordinator will conduct a comprehensive DBT program assessment, provide an orientation to the treatment model, and offer personalized treatment recommendations based on your unique needs and goals.
Fees: The cost for an intake session is $150 for a 50-minute session.
Individual DBT therapy involves weekly or biweekly sessions that focus on addressing unhelpful behaviors. Our individual DBT therapists have undergone DBT Core Clinical Training and participate in weekly Consultation Team Meetings, ensuring that you receive genuine DBT therapy.
Our individual sessions are collaborative and empowering, enabling you to work on your specific goals and improve your life. In therapy sessions, we utilize behavioral chain analyses, review diary card tracking, and help you build new skills to change behavioral patterns.
Fees: The fees for individual therapy range from $150 to $180 per 50-minute session.
DBT Skills Group
Our DBT skills groups are held on a weekly basis in eight-week blocks. Each block covers the Mindfulness module and one of the other three modules, which include Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. To fully participate, clients commit to attending the skills program for the entire eight-week block. Completing three consecutive eight-week blocks provides a comprehensive 24-week DBT skills training program. In certain cases, clients may choose to engage in a second round of skills groups, completing a full year of treatment.
To attend the DBT skills group, clients must also attend individual therapy with one of our affiliated therapists at least twice per month. This integration of group and individual therapy helps clients apply the skills they learn in a supportive environment.
Group fees: The cost for an eight-week skills group is $800.
Skills coaching is an integral part of the treatment process. It allows clients to generalize the skills they learn in group and individual therapy to their daily lives. At DBT Winnipeg, we provide skills coaching support through an email system exclusively for clients actively attending DBT Skills Groups. Clients can email for coaching assistance at any time during the week to learn how to apply the skills effectively.
Fees: Skills coaching is included in the cost of the Skills Training Group.
